The Height of Smoke Injection and Atmospheric Conditions on Smoke Dispersion in Riau Province Using The CALIPSO

Abstract Every year, smoke is still a significant problem and challenge in Indonesia. Forest land fires cause vast amounts of smoke, negatively affecting society, such as health by decreased air quality index transportation through reduced visibility. Factors that affect the spread from fire source include wind, injection height, atmospheric conditions. This study examines dispersion occurred on 23 31 August 2019; 18 September 2019 Riau province, where was identified Cloud-Aerosol Lidar Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observation (CALIPSO). The results showed height relatively high, ranging 1.6 to 2.5 km, majority which are above Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL). Winds move southeast southwest with speed 3-5 m/s support growth column downtown area Pekanbaru. A secondary stable layer lower supports fumigation process, resulted decrease Pekanbaru at event an unhealthy level visibility up 2 km.
